Best (Wool) Coats This Season

A wool coat tends to be a closet staple year after year. Not only does the coat keep you cozy all season long, but coats have become layering objects meaning you don’t necessarily have to take it off.

GREEN OVERSIZED STATEMENT COAT

I have a few wool coats that I rotate throughout the winter season. My favorite and most worn is a faded-green, oversized, double-breasted wool coat that comes down to just above my knee. I think that the reason I wear this coat so often is because not only is it extremely comfortable being oversized, but the color is not very saturated making it more of a neutral tone.

CLASSIC CAMEL COAT

I was lucky enough to spot this coat on a screaming deal at the Las Vegas Outlets during a quick weekend getaway when my husband and I were newer parents. We never had a baby moon because we were both working so much before Charlotte, so when we were finally able to schedule some time for ourselves, we took a quick drive from Utah to Las Vegas to get our much needed alone time.

Since the coat is longer and a classic neutral, I can wear it with practically everything. Also, the coat covers 2/3 of my body so it is great proportionately.

LONG HOUNDSTOOTH DRESS COAT

I stumbled upon this coat while shopping in Soho in New York City. I was there on a work trip and met my husband & his parents at the end of the week. His parents were in New York conveniently at the same time as I was there for work, except they were doing something much more enjoyable… watching the US Open. I love the length and color of this coat.

I styled it here with leather pants and a cropped wool sweater but you can wear it with jeans, skirts, dresses, you name it. When its not super cold and I want to wear it as an accessory I just toss it over my shoulders.
