Balenciaga Everyday XXS Tote | Product Review
This is one of my most used bags. I find that I choose this light weight tote on the days I am not using my Lois Vuitton Neverfull. Though it does not carry the same amount as my Neverfull, it is just as easy to get in a out of when I need something.
Balenciaga received a “good” overall rating which in relation to Good On You is a 4 out of 5. Balenciaga has good policies to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions in its supply chain. Balenciaga is owned by Kering.
Balenciaga received a 4/5 when it comes to materials. It uses some eco-friendly materials including recycled materials. It has set a science-based target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated from its own operations and supply chain. Balenciaga has a policy approved by CanopyStyle to prevent deforestation of ancient and endangered forests in some of its supply chain. It reduces chromium and other hazardous chemicals from the leather tanning processes.
Its labour rating is 'it's a start,' which is 3/5. Much of its final stage of production is undertaken in Italy, a medium risk country for labour abuse. It received a score of 41-50% in the Fashion Transparency Index. Balenciaga implements practices to encourage diversity and inclusion in its direct operations but not its supply chain. Though Balenciaga discloses policies to protect suppliers and workers in its supply chain from the impacts of COVID-19, there is no evidence it ensures payment of a living wage in most of its supply chain
Its animal rating is also a 3/5. Balenciaga has a formal animal welfare policy aligned with Five Domains. It uses leather and exotic animal hair. It has a policy to source wool from non-mulesed sheep and provides evidence on how it is implemented. It traces most animal products to the first stage of production. .

I love the way this bag sits on my shoulder and as a cross body. The bag itself is very lightweight so it doesn’t feel like much to carry. Even when I have it stuffed, it really doesn’t feel like much so it is very comfortable to carry.

The Balenciaga Everyday XXS tote is very clean and minimal. It has a brand graphic on the front in black lettering, but it is not overbearing or in your face. I love the color of the beige and am hoping that Balenciaga makes the bag in this color again. The stitching on the bag is the same color as the leather so It does not stand out which adds to the bag’s minimal aesthetic.

In terms of price, this tote is in line with other similar designer styles. There are three sizes available: Small,, X-Small and XX-Small. I own the XX-Small. The Balenciaga Everyday XXS retails for $1150 which is the same as the Tod’s Micro Bucket, Gucci Small Mormont Bucket, or the Fendi Mon Tresor Mini Bag.

This bag, though small and lightweight, is made very well. The leather is supple, but not easily scratched, and the handles are stitched tightly so I can really put a lot in the bag.
In terms of scratching, though I wouldn’t recommend taking your nails to the leather, I don’t find that the leather shows many marks. I have owned my tote for 6 years and haven’t noticed anything other than minor wear marks. The straps, both the handles as well as cross body, haven’t shown any signs of edging. I’ve notice that my LV Neverfull is starting to wear at the shoulder strap, but this Balenciaga has not.

I love this tote, and it is one of the most used bags in my closet. I can wear it casually to the grocery store or dressed up out to dinner. The quality and style are lovely, and it suits the minimal aesthetic (which is what I tend to wear most often).
