WHAT IM USING

I have been working towards using more natural products on my skin. Out of all of the fancy skincare products I have had the luxury of testing, I have used the same three products consistently for several years.

I love the products from Josie Maran. Though the price point is not necessarily low, I absolutely feel like the product is worth the price. I have used the oil for years as a base to my moisturizer and foundation (when I wear it). It is lightweight, does not discolor your skin, and is very moisturizing even in dry climates!

Otherwise, the other two items I have used consistently are the tinted moisturizer and the creamy oil.. Because I a more natural look, I actually tend to combine one pump of the tinted moisturizer with a drop of the oil. I feel like this gives me the glow that I want without making my skin look heavy with foundation. I use the creamy oil at night when I feel like I need more moisture. It feels soft on my skin, smells lovely and I wake up looking bright and rested.

EXPLORING SCOTTSDALE

I finally tried etta, a cute new restaurant at Scottsdale Quarter. We went for Saturday brunch and it was more than delicious. My friend was celebrating her birthday and she definitely got spoiled by the staff. At the end of our meal, the group (9 girls) were treated to house-made cannoli ice cream sandwiches with ricotta ice cream.

Not only was the food delicious, but the place was packed. The high ceilings & modern design assets made it urban and cool, like you were in a hip restaurant in uptown New York City.

Scottsdale Quarter is probably one of my favorite places to visit during the day (espeically with a little one). In the summer, the splash pad is open so kids can run, splash and escape the heat of the burning summer months. There is great shopping, and several other restaurants to try. Across the street is its sister center, Kierland Commons. Im sure i’ve mentioned it before. If you’re visiting Scottsdale these two outdoor malls are definitely two places that you should check out, because there is way more to do than just shop.

WHAT I’M READING/LISTENING TO

I just started a new book called “The Power” by Naomi Alderman. I haven’t felt very pulled by a book for a long time but once I pick this one up I can’t seem to put it down. Also, as a bonus, my sibling illustrated the cover so I’m pretty proud of them.

“In this stunning bestseller praised as "our era's Handmaid's Tale," a fierce new power has emerged—and only women have it (Washington Post).

”In The Power, the world is a recognizable place: there's a rich Nigerian boy who lounges around the family pool; a foster kid whose religious parents hide their true nature; an ambitious American politician; a tough London girl from a tricky family.

But then a vital new force takes root and flourishes, causing their lives to converge with devastating effect. Teenage girls now have immense physical power: they can cause agonizing pain and even death. And, with this small twist of nature, the world drastically resets. From award-winning author Naomi Alderman, The Power is speculative fiction at its most ambitious and provocative, at once taking us on a thrilling journey to an alternate reality, and exposing our own world in bold and surprising ways.”

WHAT’S CURRENTLY ON MY WANT LIST

Frankly, nothing at the moment, and you may hear that often from me right now. I am in a phase of not buying until I need. Now, that’s not saying that I haven’t bought anything, but as I have said over and over, I am really trying to be more conscientious when making purchases. I did, however, purchase a pair of shorts for just hanging out. I figured these could double as hiking, walking shorts as well as chill-out, road trip, airplane shorts. We have some plans this summer to travel, so I hope I can bring them along with me!

What is this blazer?

It’s Rag & Bone from 4 years ago, but you this one and this one are similar!

Which cook book is the pot pie from?

I love this Magnolia cook book! The pot pie recipe is so delicious that my husband asked for it for Christmas or New Years!

Favorite bag you own?

Well, favorite for going out would be this one (it doesn’t hold much but I feel special wearing it), but most used would be my LV Neverfull. I purchased it as a diaper bag because, well, not sure what I was thinking… but I use it everyday now. It has traveled everywhere with me, its great for the airport, running around, and carrying everyone else’s stuff (wife/mom, you hear me????)! If you don’t want to buy it new, you can buy it pre-loved right here.

Love the sandals!

Thanks! Stuart Weitzman! I thrifted them at a cute second-hand shop in Scottsdale! They were $30! Here they are new.

You haven’t posted in a while.

I actually have been super busy with personal styling clients and designing another company’s website. Also, in all transparency I’m not really feeling motivated. I am really trying to tone down my own spending so I feel bad encouraging my audience to continue spending. I mean, how many outfits with jeans can I really take photos of & keep my audience engaged? Thinking of re-directing the blog. Thanks for this question… Would you like to see anything new or different?
